Vision
The first step is we want to work with you to define your vision, your necessities, and to better understand the scope and expectations you are looking to achieve.
From there we can provide you with a rough estimate and establish any budget boundaries and start mapping out a target schedule.
Concept & Design
We will need to identify if your site has any special permitting needs or studies to proceed, but at this time we can start developing a concept to give you a general visual of what the finished project might look like.
This allows us to run early cost checks so that design and budget maintain an equilibrium. Through collaboration and coordination with skilled design teams and engineers, the concept moves preliminary into something finalized for review and approval to move into a building stage. We want to minimize the area of oversight of all components associated with your project, this phase allows us to grasp the project in its entirety.
Once approved, the project is broken into segmented goals from excavation, foundation, framing, roofing, siding, and finishing to allow for full transparency as we move into the production phase.
Production
In this part of the process the pieces start physically moving towards something outstanding. Premium quality materials are selected for construction and moved into our facility for processing through a method of batch working timbers.
With meticulous layout and cutting precision, each component of the frame is prepared, finished, numbered and organized for onsite assembly. While this process is underway in our shop, any onsite requirements such as foundations, footings and infrastructure are addressed and made ready for an efficient assembly when production in complete.
Construction
Timber construction is a smooth an highly efficient form of framing a build. The components are laid out and assembled on a flat and level surface, these sections are referred to as “bents”. When enough bents are completed they are then lifted into place and held together with tie beams, purlins a ridge beam and bracing before moving onto the next section, this is repeated until each member is positioned precisely where it is ment to be.
We also offer Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) as an optional upgrade for and exterior solution. When chosen, SIPs create a fast, modular exterior envelope that delivers a completely seamless, high-performance insulated layer — ready for your final cladding or siding.
Other trades will be brought it where required to continue the progression of your project and move us closer to completion.
Final Details & Finishing
We want to make sure the build meets your expectations, and that you are completely satisfied with the product that we at Ironwoods Timberworks inc. have provided you. We will do a full walk through of the site. As we near the end of the project, we touch up anything that requires any ongoing or further focus as the rest of the interior comes together.
